The legislation came into force on\u00a0<strong>9th July 2015<\/strong>\u00a0following the implementation of a 2013\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/eli\/dir\/2013\/11\/oj\"><strong>European Directive<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0on ADR.<\/p>\n<p>From\u00a0<strong>1st October 2015<\/strong>, businesses have been required to supply consumers with the details of a certified ADR provider, and inform them as to whether they intend to use them to help resolve a dispute.<\/p>\n<p>Businesses should\u00a0<strong>actively<\/strong>\u00a0sign up to be part of an ADR body, such as The Motor Ombudsman, as this demonstrates to consumers that they are acting both transparently and fairly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":79059,"parent":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"knowledge-base-category":[17],"class_list":["post-76595","knowledge","type-knowledge","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","knowledge-base-category-dispute-resolution"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.4 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>What legislation oversees Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)? - The Motor Ombudsman<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"The Alternative Dispute Resolution Regulations 2015, govern the ADR process in the UK.
